Antique Black And Decker Heavy Duty Electric Drill

I bought this at a yard sale almost 10 years ago. Probably one of the most unique unusual power tools i own. Enjoy!

    Black and Decker was the first company to make an electric drill.

    @craig1974 Oh. That’s what i figured. That would sorta get on my nerves. But I guess you really can’t complain because it is so old.

    @wheely132 nope

    I like that! Sure beats a lot of the now day power drills! I do have a question though, I don’t see any switches on it except the motor switch. Is it reversible?

    I bet that thing will last another 100 years!

    Now thats when B&d really made some high quality tools

    The old tools were built to run forever. I have a bunch of old tools like that. I take them apart regrease the gear box and re oil the bearings then polish them up like new.

    My Dad had a metal drill sort of like that and I nearly got killed when I touched a metal fence while drilling. Yes, Dad wired it… lol

    reminds me of the old metal drill my dad gave me as a kid we called it driller killer due to its faulty trigger switch lol when i had my truck i put aftermarket lights on the bumper i used the new drill but i got stuck so i used driller killer no problem at all for that lol

    @wilkes85 My cordless Ryobi batteries last awhile when driving long screws repeativly , but go dead really fast when drilling large holes. I had to drill eight 1/2 inch by 4 inch long holes for the railing posts, and the cordless lasted until the last hole when i had to pull out the corded drill. The cord is ok, but aging. If it was brittle i would of fixed it asap.

    aah you should use that as your main drill. I would, the cordless ones are nice, but the batteries always go dead too quickly. I use a corded drill, but it’s only a few years old. Also, I suggest you wrap the cord in electrical tape where it’s cracking. You don’t want a nasty surprise some day lol
