This short 2 day introductory course covers the basic elements of creating music and recording/editing MIDI music data and audio tracks in Apple’s Logic Studio 8.

The course begins with the fundamentals of digital audio/MIDI workstations and develops into knowledge of techniques that will allow the user to perform useful recordings in Logic plus develop a creative process. There will also be tips on good recording techniques and appropriate equipment selection.

• Exploring Logic’s interface. Basics of MIDI, Synthesis and digital audio. Recording and Editing MIDI. Recording and editing audio.

• Software Instruments and Plug Ins

• Music and Sound for Picture

The course is based around Logic Studio 8 on Mac, but this course might be useful to people using other versions of Logic, including Logic Express.
